Hi Everyone Say Home - Stay Safe. Never thought I would tell anyone to stay home!!! Travel has come to a standstill with Covid 19. Remember this is just for now, we will travel again soon. Fortunately we have Dr Bonnie & a government that listens. It has been bad in Canada but not nearly as bad as the rest of the world. Keep a social distance - 6' or 2m. If you know someone who is sick or can't gt out give them a call, we need to stay connected. At our May meetings we worked on the calendar for 2021. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Some suggested we keep the same calendar as this year but we still had other suggestions. Let's make it a fantastic travelling year to make up for this one. I am expecting next year to be a busy one for travel so once the calendar is decided we will need deposits. We will continue to have 4 meetings a month once we are allowed to meet.. Regular
meetings once Covid 19 is over are: The club has been featured across the country appearing in the Vancouver Sun, Toronto, Windsor, Saskatchewan and Edmonton newspapers. Locally we have had write-ups in the Vancouver Sun, Abbotsford Times, Tri-city News, Richmond News, Tri-cities Now, Georgia Straight, Kelowna and Victoria. I was also invited as a guest on Shaw Express, Channel 13 Breakfast Show. I attended meetings of the Hydro Pioneers, Abbotsford/Mission/Aldergrove singles club, the North Vancouver Seniors Club and the Abbotsford Learning giving presentations at all of them. If any of you have any contacts for further exposure for the club please let me know. The more members the more friends we can make and the more trips we can offer. Volunteers are needed for a phoning committee and to welcome guests at our meeting. If you can spare one hour a month it would be greatly appreciated. The yearly membership fees are due in January and will be $30.00 + gst $1.50. If anyone has a short article for the newsletter please let me know.
